Khaled: Finally, Friday is here, and the vacation of niheyet al-osbou‘ is about to start; or the weekend like we call it in English. What are your plans for these couple of days Rana?
رنا: بعد ما قرّرت. يا بطلع عالجبل أو بنزل عالبحر! وإنتَ خالد؟
Rana: I haven’t decided yet. I will either go to the mountain or to the beach! What about you Khaled?
خالد: أنا ناوي إبقى وكزدر ببيروت لإتفرّج بالتحديد عالكتابة على الحيطان أو الـgraffiti (جرافيتي)! شفت من شوي عفايسبوك إنو شركة “ألتيرناتيف تور بيروت” بتنظّم جولات أو tours كل نهار سبت. منتمشى تقريبًا شي 4 ساعات ببيروت، من منطقة الجميزة عمنطقة الأشرفية، ومنتوقف ععدة محطات. منتعرف عتاريخ المدينة، على فن الشارع أو الـstreet art والجرافيتي. هيدا أكتر شي محمس شوفو بالمشوار، بما إنو مناطق الجميزة، مار مخايل والحمرا ببيروت غنية بالجرافيتي. ومع إنو تقريبًا كل يوم بمرق بهالشوارع بالسيارة أنا ورايح عشغلي، بس هيك tour بتسمحلي ركز على كل لوحة وتفاصيلا! شو رأيك تجي معي؟
Khaled: I plan to stay and go out in Beirut, particularly to check out writings on walls or graffiti! Just a while ago, I saw on Facebook that “Alternative Tour Beirut” organizes tours every Saturday. We walk for about 4 hours in Beirut, from the Gemmayzeh area to Achrafieh, and we stop at several locations. We learn about the history of the city, street art, and graffiti. This is the most thing I am excited to see in this trip since the areas of Gemmayzeh, Mar Mikhayel, and Hamra in Beirut are rich with Graffiti. And even though I pass in these streets in my car almost every day while going to work, such a tour allows me to concentrate on each painting and its details! How about you join me?
