Subscription Agreement

1. General

Please read this Subscription Agreement and the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, as these documents cover Language Wave’s “terms and conditions” for use of the website and our related services. The Language Wave website is owned and developed by Language Wave LLC. You should only subscribe with Language Wave if you consent to the terms and conditions in these documents, which we reserve the right to modify from time to time. Please review the documents regularly to be aware of any modifications.

Language Wave provides weekly episodes that include Lebanese-Arabic audio and transcripts, contextual English translations, comprehension exercises, and vocabulary tables. Since Lebanese-Arabic is not usually used in formal writing, the transcripts in our episodes are intended to serve as pronunciation guides rather than as tools to learn how to read formal Arabic.

2. Responsibilities of Subscriber

When you subscribe with Language Wave you will be asked to provide your name and email address. You will also be asked to create a username and password so that you can log in. Subscriptions are only available for individuals and personal use. Your account log in information must only be used by you and not shared with others. You are responsible to protect access to your password and account. Sharing your account information with others so they can access the service is a violation of the Subscription Agreement and may result in cancellation of your subscription.

You are responsible for obtaining and using any equipment, services, and other items necessary to access Language Wave, including computers, mobile devices, and internet services.

3. Refunds

We hope you enjoy Language Wave and find it useful. However, if you are not happy or satisfied with your subscription, we will provide a full refund if you contact us via email at admin@LanguageWave.com or through our website’s “Contact Us” page to request a refund.

If the Language Wave program becomes temporarily unavailable due to maintenance downtime or malfunction of our systems or for any other reasons, we will do our best to resume service as soon as possible. If you feel a service disruption affects your satisfaction with our service and you wish to request a refund please contact us to make the request.

If you violate the subscription terms and conditions, we reserve the right to cancel your subscription and not issue a refund.

4. Subscription Renewal

When you fill out the subscription form on our website to subscribe with our service, Language Wave allows you to select whether you want to have your subscription automatically renew (aka “auto renew”) at the end of the selected subscription period using the same payment information you provide when you subscribe. If you opt for automatic renewal when you subscribe but later want to halt it before the end of the subscription, you can change your account’s automatic renewal settings on our website. To change your account settings you must first log in and then go to the Manage Subscription page where you can deselect the automatic renewal checkbox or click on the “Cancel your subscription” hyperlink and confirm in the pop up dialogue box your decision to cancel the subscription. If you cancel your subscription, it will still be effective until the end of the then-current subscription period but it will not automatically renew if you had previously opted for automatic renewal.

5. User Communication and Conduct

The overall goal of Language Wave is to provide opportunities to learn Lebanese-Arabic in a friendly and safe environment. We offer users of our service the opportunity to post comments on our website’s episode pages and related social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. It is the responsibility of all users to ensure that any communication they make on our website and other related channels, including social media, are conducted in a responsible, respectful, and safe manner. We do our best to moderate our user chat and comments sections to maintain a friendly and enjoyable experience for people who use our services. In reality, user comments across multiple web pages and platforms are challenging to constantly monitor and moderate. So we kindly solicit your feedback when you observe inappropriate comments and communication so we can review and address it as appropriate. When we observe communication that violates our community standards we consider it as a violation of Language Wave’s terms and conditions and may block and/or delete the communication, terminate an offending person’s subscription, and refer them to relevant authorities as appropriate. Unacceptable user conduct on our platforms include comments as well as other communications and actions that exhibit any of the following:

  1. Any verbal abuse and/or disrespectful comments generally
  2. Sexual harassment and other conduct that creates a hostile or offensive online environment.
  3. Any disrespectful comments made to anyone based on culture, religion, belief, point of view, etc.
  4. Actively soliciting people in the group to convert to any religious or political belief
  5. Providing negative remarks towards another person, for any reason that creates an uncomfortable environment. All critiques or “constructive criticism” should be positive in tone and presented in a friendly manner.
  6. Any threat of violence towards another
  7. Use of profanity
  8. Spam messages and content not related to Language Wave content or language learning in general

6. Security of Personal Information

Language Wave subscription payments are performed using PayPal or Stripe payment systems. When you subscribe you are asked to select and use one of these payment platforms. You will be asked to provide your credit or debit card number and related payment information to complete the subscription payment. PayPal and Stripe have their own privacy and security policies which you should review on their websites. PayPal and Stripe are two international payment processing companies and our understanding is that they use robust security protocols to safeguard customer and payment data. Nevertheless, Language Wave LLC disclaim any liability that may result from inappropriate release of customer information by PayPal or Stripe, and as a subscriber, you agree to hold Language Wave harmless for any damages that may result from actions by or to those companies.

7. Ownership of Content

All information, text, images, audio, and other material in the Language Wave program (collectively, “Content”) is the property of Language Wave LLC, unless otherwise noted. All Content is protected from unauthorized copying and dissemination by U.S. copyright law, trademark law, international conventions, and other intellectual property laws. If you wish to copy, distribute, re-publish or otherwise reuse any Content from Language Wave, you must request permission first from Language Wave LLC by using the “Contact Us” information on our website. We reserve the right to make changes to Content to enhance our program without prior notice to subscribers.

8. Disclaimer

Language Wave LLC make no representations or warranties with respect to this site or its contents, which is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We disclaim all warranties with respect to the website, programs, and services, express or implied, including without limitation, implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose or representations or warranties that the site, program, or services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or complete, or that the site or server that makes it available are free from viruses or other harmful components.
