Episode 72 – Dabke dance

Dabke is a popular Levantine folk dance and often performed at weddings and other happy celebrations. It is a major part of Lebanese heritage that continues to evolve over time. Rana and Khaled both love this traditional dance, despite Khaled having two left feet! Learn more about Dabke as Rana tries to teach Khaled how to perform it!

Rana: Khaled, come take a look with me at Soha’s wedding photos. She has recently posted them on Facebook, one of the most beautiful memories! She has been married for two years, can you believe it?

خالد: لااا، كيف قطع الوقت! بتتذكّري رنا ليلتها قدّي جرّبتوا تعلموني أرقص دبكة وما أعرف وتضحكوا عليّي..

Khaled: Nooo, how time has passed! Do you remember Rana how much you tried to teach me that night how to dance Dabke, and I wouldn’t get it and you would laugh at me.
