Episode 52 – Skit: exploring a neighborhood

Rami and Tala are walking in Beirut on a Sunday morning and decide to explore one of Beirut’s old neighborhoods, Zuqaq Al-Blat. Tala went to school there when she was young, but it has been a long time since she was last there. As they walk through the neighborhood, they discuss its history and pass by famous landmarks.

رامي وتالا عم بيتمشو ببيروت الأحد الصبح وقررو يستكشفو واحد من أحياء بيروت القديمة، زقاق البلاط. كانت مدرسة تالا هونيك لمّا كانت صغيرة بس مرق وقت طويل من لمّا كانت هونيك آخر مرة. وهني وعم  بكزدرو بالحي عم يناقشو تاريخ المنطقة ويمرقو عالمعالم الشهيرة تبع الحيّ.

رامي: تالا، ما زالنا عم نمشي ببيروت، شو رأيك نفوت عزقاق البلاط ونستكشف المنطقة؟

Rami: Tala, since we are walking around Beirut, how about we go to Zuqaq Al-Blat and explore the area?

تالا: أكيد! كنت دايماً قول إنو شي نهار بدي فوت إتمشى فيا. لأنو مدرستي كانت هونيك، وصرلي زمان مش مارقة بالمنطقة.

Tala: Of course! I always used to say that someday I want to go and take a walk in it because my school was there, and I have not been in the neighborhood for so long.

رامي: يلا فإذاً. شي 5 دقايق ومنوصل على مدخل الشارع الرئيىسي لزقاق البلاط.

Rami: Let us go then. About 5 minutes and we will arrive at the entrance of the main street in Zuqaq Al-Blat.
