The Lebanon Mountain Trail (LMT) is a long-distance hiking trail that runs the length of Lebanon. It extends from Andaket in northern Lebanon to Marjayoun in the south. The trail is 470 km long and passes through more than 75 towns and villages at altitudes ranging from 570 to 2,011 meters above sea level. The trail passes near many of Lebanon’s most famous historic and natural landmarks and is an incredible way to explore the country whether hiked in part or from beginning to end.

Hello and welcome to a new episode of Language Wave. This is Naim, and in this episode we will talk about a hobby, a sport, and a trip at the same time. We will talk about walking in nature. And not any kind of walking. It is about the longest path in Lebanon linking the north with the south.

لما نحكي عن الطبيعة بلبنان أول شي بيخطر عبالنا جبال ووديان وصخور وأشجار وأنهار. كل هالعوامل تعتبر أساسية لرياضة المشي بالطبيعة، يعني الهايكينغ.

When we talk about nature in Lebanon, the first thing that comes to our mind is mountains, valleys, rocks, trees, and rivers. All these factors are considered fundamental to the sport of walking in nature, which means hiking.

Marhaba! ("Hi"!)
