Rabbit Island (which is also called Palm Island) is the largest island in an archipelago off the coast of Tripoli in north Lebanon. The island is part of an ecologically important nature preserve called the Palm Islands Nature Reserve. These islands are home to endangered animals such as green turtles and monk seals. About 150 migratory bird species rest on the islands while flying through the region each year. Rabbit Island’s crystal-clear shoreline is a popular place for tourists to visit during the summer. In this episode, Naim tells us about his recent trip to the island and people he met along the way.

Hello and welcome to a new episode on Language Wave. I am Naim, and today I will be telling you about an Island located in the sea of Lebanon. Its name is Rabbit Island. It is one of a group of islands located near each other with an area of more than 2 square kilometers, and they are called the Palm Islands Nature Reserve. They are located in the sea of the north and specifically across from the city of Tripoli at 5 kilometers away from the shore. To get to know this Island more, we will go to it, discover it, and I will tell what we saw and what we did.

On Saturday, early in the morning, we got ready; two of my friends and I. We put on sportswear, and we set off in the car from Beirut towards the north. We thought about the island all along the way. What exists on it? Why is this its name? Could someone be living in it? Or are their wild animals on it?
